Negotiate With Data, Not Reach

Don't leave money on the table. Negotiate based on Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) to get your true market value.

Negotiate With Data, Not Reach

Let's talk about a shift in leverage. It doesn't come from how many people see the brand integration. The impact is the brand's quantifiable return on investment. We must anchor the negotiation to the brand's bottom line (CAC/LTV). When you're delivering results, you deserve to get paid for results (business impact), not how many followers you happen to have.

This is the difference between being a "Media Buy" and being an "Investable Asset."

When an agency sends you an offer based on CPM, they are treating you like a billboard. They are paying for the hope that someone buys. But you are not a billboard. You are a conversion engine.

This is the hidden math - it costs them $40 in Facebook Ads to acquire one new customer (CAC). Let's say you charge a flat fee and your audience converts highly. When you run the numbers post-campaign, you may find that you acquired customers for them at $4 each. You just handed them a ton of arbitrage. You subsidized their growth with your under-priced influence!

You must stop negotiating with your own data (followers) and start negotiating with their data (performance - business impact). When a brand approaches you, your first question is not "What is the budget?" Your first question is: "What is your target CAC for this vertical?"

If they say "$50," and you know you can deliver at "$10," your price just went up 300%. You are no longer selling "exposure." You are selling them discounted customer acquisition.

Here's our deal audit script - if they refuse to answer, you are flying blind.

1. Baseline Question: "To help me engineer the creative for maximum impact, I need to know your current blended CAC on paid social. Are you buying customers at $20 or $50?" (Note: If they don't know, they are amateurs. If they won't tell you, they are hiding your edge.)

2. Conversion Demand: "I require access to the post-campaign conversion data. I need to see the click-through rate and cart conversion rate on my specific link." (Reason: You need this data to negotiate your renewal. If you don't track it, you can't upsell it.)

3. Equity Kicker: "Since my audience converts at 3x your benchmark, I’d like to structure the base fee at X, with a performance warrant for Y% equity if we hit Z sales volume." (This moves you from vendor to partner.)
